Sanctioned in 1967, swimming and diving was the sixth sport Iowa girls could participate in.

Swimmers and divers not only learn the fundamentals and technique required of each stroke and dive, but they also develop a lifelong passion for the sport. Many swimmers fondly remember the pride they have for their school, their teammates and the fitness routines they developed. Girls who participate in swimming and diving have a strong dedication to their sport, often finding new strength in themselves as they push to get the fastest times for not only themselves but also their team.
