Dike-New Hartford 25-28-25, Aplington-Parkersburg 9-26-21

CEDAR RAPIDS — Second-ranked Dike-New Hartford punched its ticket to the Class 2A semifinals Tuesday with a straight-set sweep of Aplington-Parkersburg at the Iowa State Volleyball Tournament. The Wolverines rolled to a 25-9, 25-21, 25-21 victory to improve to 39-9 on the season, while the Falcons finished their year at 28-11.

Senior standout Abby Jensen led D-NH’s attack with 17 kills and a .280 hitting percentage, while Keely Kauten added 12 kills on an impressive .524 clip. Rylee Reicks chipped in eight kills, and setter Kailyn Meester tallied 35 assists as the Wolverines hit .286 as a team. Defensively, Aubrey Asche anchored the back row with 16 digs.

For Aplington-Parkersburg, Zoey Uhlenhopp paced the Falcons with 12 kills, followed by Jenzen Klooster with 11 and Adri Allan with seven. Julia Mostek distributed 30 assists, but the Falcons struggled to find rhythm offensively, finishing with a .124 team hitting percentage.

Dike-New Hartford advances to the Class 2A semifinals tomorrow at 4:25.
