It’s (almost) golf season! I hope this message finds you all well and ready to kick off another great season. Some usual preseason items for you to check out before practice gets going next week. Please ensure you’ve taken care of all necessary administrative tasks:
2025 Final Classifications: Final classifications for the 2025 season will be posted next Friday, March 21st. Please double-check your schools’ BEDS number, coops, etc. on the classification posted on our website.
2025 Season Manual: General information for the 2025 season including playing dates, scoring, range finding devices, etc. can be found in the 2025 Season Manual on the IGHSAU website.
Bound Directory / Email Notifications: ADs – please check to ensure that your golf coach is receiving this memo. If they are not, please update your directory on Bound. I pulled a new update from the directory from Bound on Monday of this week (3/10).
Concussion Management Course – All coaches (paid and volunteer) are required to view the course Concussion in Sports before the first official day of practice if they have not done so already for a previous sport this school year.
Coaches Online Rules Meeting – The Coaches Rules Meeting is available on Bound under the IGHSAU or IHSAA tab. This must be completed before March 26th. It is a joint rule meeting for all head coaches, boys and/or girls.
Viewing the meeting on either site (IGHSAU or IHSAA) fulfills the viewing requirement. All head varsity coaches must view the Rules Meeting.
Site Availability – Please fill out the site availability form on Bound if you’re interested in hosting a regional golf meet, Deadline is April 4th.
Season Stats on Bound - Coaches are required to submit varsity stats on Bound. Bound will be checked every Tuesday during the regular season. Please ensure course rating is listed with each meet. Rosters and complete schedules must be entered before your first meet.
Iowa Golf Association Seminars - IGA rule seminar dates and registration information are linked on the golf page of the IGHSAU website. There are two in-person clinics. There will also be a recorded seminar that will be posted online.
2025 State Coed Meet - Information and online registration link for the coed meet will be posted by the end next week on the IGHSAU and IHSAA websites. Coed meet is capped at 68 teams per class.
