CORALVILLE — The Humboldt Wildcats are headed to the Class 3A semifinals after sweeping Cherokee 25-16, 25-15, 25-21 Tuesday at Xtream Arena.

The Wildcats (32-6) were efficient on offense, hitting .345 as a team and getting balanced contributions across the lineup. Adelynn Goodell led Humboldt with 14 kills, while Kendall Works and Mia Schluter each added 12. Setter Addie Waldorf dished out 39 assists to guide the attack.

Defensively, libero Claire Dieleman anchored the back row with 12 digs, and Humboldt posted a strong .940 serve-receive percentage as a team. Works and Schluter were also forces at the net, combining for several key points in the front row.

Cherokee (29-8) was paced by Addy Wolfswinkel’s 12 kills, while Deidra Doeden added nine and Ellana Mortenson chipped in eight.

With the victory, Humboldt advances to face top-ranked Western Christian in the Class 3A semifinals at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday on Court 1.
