Coralville, Iowa — Third-ranked North Tama punched its ticket to the Class 1A semifinals with a straight-set win over Sidney, 25–19, 25–21, 26–24, in Tuesday’s quarterfinal at the Iowa State Volleyball Tournament.
Kruiz Ewoldt powered the Redhawks with 15 kills to lead the attack, while Lily Sell added 14 and Isabelle Gropper dished out 21 assists.
Sidney was led by Keyana Haggerty and Alyssa Melvin, who each finished with seven kills.
With the victory, North Tama improved to 29–13 and advances to face second-ranked Janesville in Wednesday’s Class 1A semifinals at 6:25 p.m. Sidney ends its season at 22–10.
