Weekly Training Tip #23 - Sled Marches

Sled marches emphasize and reinforce mechanics we see during the drive phases of a sprint. The goal of the movement is to work the triple extension patterns and knee drive we see while accelerating to top speed. Generally, the velocity at which we can do these mechanics is trained during sprinting. We can isolate this particular phase and increase the total force production through these movement patterns to increase our total power output during the drive phases. This movement is beneficial for all skill levels of athletes and can be utilized in all sports requiring any form of running.
