Girls high school soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the state.

This year marks the 20th year girls soccer has been sanctioned in the state, with three classes competing in the sport. Girls not only develop their fundamentals, technique and skills, but they also learn valuable life lessons about team work, sportsmanship, determination and discipline. The Iowa High School Girls State Soccer Tournament is held June 7–9 at the end of each season at the Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.
