Weekly Training Tip #35 - Sprinter Side Plank

The sprinter side plank is an exercise to train contralateral oblique activation in conjunction with knee drive to work lateral stabilization through the running gate. This exercise also recruits the hip abductors which tend to be a weakness in runners who primarily practice their sport in the sagittal plane. Ability to resist lateral forces reduces wasted motion and inefficiency while running.
